Soft and luminous work of painterly elegance

Add to Favorites

Canvases of fluid motion and color, these hand-marbled silk bandanas are wearable works of art. Crafted using the centuries-old technique of water marbling, each 20x20 inch square captures a one-of-a-kind pattern—never repeated, always expressive. The designs are floated, not painted, coaxed into shape atop water before being transferred to 100% silk, where they live as permanent imprints of spontaneity and craftsmanship.

Soft, luminous, and endlessly versatile, these bandanas bring a painterly elegance to the everyday—whether tied at the neck, worn in the hair, or displayed as art in their own right. Small squares with infinite possibility.

Lichen Bandana
Named after one of my favorite biological organisms, the "Lichen" bandana was made for those who prefer a neutral, earthy palette. Silky-smooth this lightweight scarf is as dreamy to wear as it is to look at.

Cherry on Top Bandana
An exaggerated stone pattern effervescent + bubbly. Shades of blue are accented by bright pops of citrus. This pattern was created during my residency in the Caribbean

Garden Party Bandana
The equinox is a threshold—a moment of balance between light and dark, winter and spring, rest and renewal. It’s a time to unfurl, to stretch toward what’s next, to embrace the colors of new beginnings. This latest silk scarf was born from that feeling. A celebration of green and pink—growth and bloom, softness and energy.

Care:
Hand wash with mild detergent.
Hang to dry.
Iron low.

About the Brand - Mercedez Rex
Mercedez Rex is a design-forward brand redefining the silk scarf through the ancient art of water marbling. Each piece begins as a meticulously hand-crafted original—pigments floated on specially treated water to form vibrant, fluid patterns that are as dynamic as they are unrepeatable. These one-of-a-kind designs are then digitally reprinted onto fine silk, preserving the richness, movement, and spontaneity of the original artwork.

Blending centuries-old craftsmanship with modern technique, Mercedez Rex scarves are more than accessories—they are wearable expressions of artistry and individuality. With their luminous colors, sumptuous textures, and unmistakable sense of motion, each scarf offers a refined, whimsical statement for those who seek the extraordinary.
