Made in Italy with just 3 ingredients: chilies, distilled vinegar, and salt.
Stuzzi is a blend of both fresh and dried peppers. The Calabrian peppers are slowly dried in the shade in southern Italy. This traditional whole-pepper natural drying process takes 1-2 months, compared to the chopped-chili industrial process (max. 24hr.) This slow step is key to preserving the peppers’ delicate earthiness. In order to obtain a layer of bright, high-toned citrus as well as umami, we lacto-ferment fresh cayenne peppers.
Stuzzi is the hot sauce for (and made by) people who know good food.
How hot is Stuzzi?
Stuzzi has enough heat for the spice lover, yet not so much as to overwhelm your favorite dishes. It's about elevating good food, not covering it up.
How is Stuzzi made?
How isn’t it made? It isn’t made with any preservatives, thickening agents, artificial colors or sweeteners. It has three simple ingredients: distilled vinegar, chili peppers and salt.
Is Stuzzi gluten-free, non-GMO, vegan?
Yes ma'am, naturally. Additionally, no peanuts are processed where we work, so if you've got a peanut allergy, you're good to go.
About the Brand - Stuzzi
Tequila-and wine—makers Richard and Carla Betts met acclaimed chefs Ethel Hoon and Jakob Zeller while on an Alpine road trip. That night over drinks they quickly got down to the juice of life: the two couples shared the same love of travel, good food and fiery spice. Hailing from North America, Singapore, and Italy, and having collectively worked in the restaurant industry for over 50 years, they realized they were uniquely qualified to create a hot sauce that would enhance as many cuisines as possible.
Stuzzi lives up to the name. In Italian, the word “stuzzicare [stutːsi'kare]” means; ‘To stimulate, to excite, to tease.’ Stuzzi is hot sauce that actually tastes good; bold, savory, complex. Not better than sex—but close.
