Houseplant Tap Water Conditioner
Removes chlorine, destroys chloramines, detoxifies heavy metals, & buffers pH
Is tap water bad for plants? Chemicals (used by municipalities to treat water) can kill beneficial microorganisms in soil and damage plant roots. And some plants like dracaenas, ti plants, spider plants, prayer plants, calatheas, and carnivorous plants are just more sensitive to chemical exposure. Heavy metals may be a concern if you get water from a well or other natural source. The average pH of tap water is 6.5 to 8.5. Plants prefer pH 5.0-7.0. Our water conditioner keeps the pH in this range for healthy, happy plants.
Signs your plants need water conditioner: Look for poor growth, wilting, crispy brown or black leaf tips. While using our water conditioner, you may also notice plants growing taller & more robust because harmful chemicals are dissipated before thirsty roots absorb them.
About the Brand - Southside.
Southside is rooted in curiosity, experimentation, and a deep love for helping houseplants thrive. Originally founded by a biologist and orchid enthusiast who discovered that cloning was the key to healthier blooms, Southside developed its signature Crazy Keiki Cloning Paste—an innovative formula that encourages new growth on orchids, philodendrons, monsteras, ficus, strings of pearls, and countless other favorites.
In 2023, sisters Ann Marie and Emily stepped in to carry the brand forward, inspired by a desire to spend more time together and to share their passion for plant care. Once reluctant participants in childhood “plant chores,” they eventually grew into dedicated hobbyists who bonded over soil debates, fertilizer experiments, and the thrill of reviving ailing houseplants. Today, they continue Southside’s mission to create practical, innovative, and joy-sparking solutions for plant lovers—offering everything from cloning paste to dust-banishing leaf wipes and nutrient-rich fertilizers.
